Summer 2008 was full of exciting Global Projects; we had visitors from South Africa who put on a musical production called The Township Jive; two children from Dihlabeng School came to visit Red Oaks with Margaret; Year 5 are engaged in a really exciting Anglo French Project linking Shakespeare's England with Futuroscope's France. Infact ten children are visitiing France in early July to link with our French partners near Poitiers.
Red Oaks teachers love dressing up! They are often found in role exciting children's learning. In May Elizabeth 1 arrived for a session on crime and punishment and Shakespeare was found writing a play in the Red Oaks school hall! Who will be visiting next?
Baby Bear from the Goldilock's story came to help nursery with measures. Goldilocks had muddled everything up so the children helped Baby Bear to sort things out by size; small, medium and large.
At Red Oaks we ask children to read at least 4 times a week at home. Last term's winners in Key Stage 2 took part in an archery session and this term the prize is a session with the Happy Puzzle Company..
