10 December
Opening Tescos
On Friday 7th December Red Oaks pupils officially opened the new Tesco store in Redhouse Village. Goodie bags, buns and a £500 cheque were very gratefully received. A big thank you to Tesco. Mrs M recommends the jam doughnuts!

30 Sept 07: Web Survey results

the website gets a big thumbs up Many, many thanks to all those of you who took part in our web survey earlier this month. Nearly 60 of you filled it in and below is a short summary of the results as well as a few selected quotes (these were really hard to choose as there were so many).
We think we can safely say that the website gets a big thumbs up from almost everyone. Many thanks for the suggestions for improvement also made - these will be considered most carefully.

Of the 58 responses:
  • Over 50% of you look at the website several times a week, with over 76% of people looking at least once a week
  • Over 70% of you rated the site 6/6 in terms of how effective it is - this number rises to almost 97% when we add the 5/6 scores as well!! Not Bad!
  • The most visited areas with scores of over 90% are Celebrating Children and the Newsletters/ Diary pages with News/Events, For Parents and the Wall of Talent/ Holiday Blog all scoring over 50%

In response to the question 'what is the best feature of the school site?' the top comments were:
Celebrating Children area, online homework, site being up to date, feeling informed and involved, news, dates and newsletters, easy to use

And finally a few quotes:

  • Absolutely love the website and visit it at least three times a week. Grandparents who don’t live locally can feel more a part of day to day lives of their grandchildren. Thank you very much!
  • Since day one this school site has been colourful, interesting and most of all informative and up to date.
  • The website is one of the best in Swindon. I also think I’ve filled this form in before but I don’t care. In the words of my children. Red Oaks Rocks!
  • I think that the website is fantastic and extremely helpful and informative. It really makes me feel even more involved with Red Oaks!
  • It is refreshing to know that information is always available without constantly having to bother the busy school staff.
  • Love the fact that everything is aimed at the children having fun and praise for achievements is great. My son is practically on the website everyday as he enjoys looking through it.
  • This fun, diverse and enthusiastic site is infectious and always boosts my enthusiasm levels, whilst providing the kids with a great place to showcase their talents too!
  • I think that this is the best school website. My daughter’s previous school has a good website which is maintained regularly, but nothing compares to this one. It’s brilliant and informative. I know that I can get pretty much 99% of the information about the school from this website. Well done!

A huge thank you to everyone
