Climate Week
Would your class like a celebrity such as Sir Paul McCartney to come and visit them at Red Oaks?
Well, Climate Week is going to be happening this week all across the UK.
If you want to be in for a chance of winning, or just want to have fun whilst trying to make people more 'ECO' aware then just... Follow this link for all the information and resources you need to take part in this years challenge. GOOD LUCK! NOW CLOSED, AWAITING RESULTS See some of the fabulous entries here
Mrs Surch is challenging the children and staff at Red Oaks to come together and make a difference.
The items below can all be recycled - some in return for cash which will be donated to charity and some which can be sent to Great Ormand Street hospital for them to turn into cash.
These items will be collected in the main entrance of the school each morning and need to be brought by the child. Points will be earned by bringing in items for recycling. Children who have siblings can split the points between them if they wish.
This is a class competition and the class collecting the most points over the term will decide which charity the money is donated to. Staff may take part in the competition also and can choose which class they earn point for.
Points for each class will be collected each week and a cumulative graph will be updated here (see below). The highest earning individual in Foundation stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 will receive a prize at the end of term.

A very big thank you to everyone who took part in our cup cake competition.

Spring 2013: 'How does the world inspire us?' photo competition Congratulations to Lauren who scooped up the exciting prize of a £20 Amazon voucher to spend on her favourite technology!
Thanks for sharing your inspiration - we found Dylan's story inspiring too.
Well done Lauren and Redwing's for helping save him.
All Our Finalists...
Arjan (Y4)
This is a photo I took of a reenactment of the soldiers in the trenches
during
World War 1 taken at The Old Sarum in Salisbury.
Cosmo (Y6MC)
This is a collagraph, I like that prints can be made from using lots of
shapes and textures. I am going to make a collagraph of a whale and a ship for my story books
Jack (Y5AM4)
This tree inspires me because it is really old and has lived through
world
wars, extreme weather (hurricanes, lightning strikes, snow, gale force winds) and woodcutters. It is still standing tall and proud like a king over 100 years after it was planted.
Madison (Y1)
This is a photo I took of Stone Henge in Salisbury. This photo inspires me because
the stones are so massive but the people moved
them
without machines.
It makes me think if I try, try, try I can, can, can!
Lauren (Y6MC)
Horses inspire me because they are full of nature!
This is a horse is called (Dylan), I adopted him from Redwings Horse
Sanctuary. Dylan inspires me because he has been put through a lot of bad things in his life, until Redwings saved him.
I wonder what its like to be him!
