Inclusion - Learning Difficulties & Disabilities: Overview

Overview of the Special Resourced Provision (SRP) for Children with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (LDD)

Special Resourced Provision (SRP) for Children with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (LDD) As a purpose-built primary school on the North Swindon Learning Campus, Red Oaks is well-placed to provide quality inclusion opportunities, in partnership with Brimble Hill Special School.  We are delighted that we are able to offer exactly that through our Special Resourced Provision for children with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities.

This is a unique opportunity whereby children attend Red Oaks as a mainstream school, whilst also accessing learning and the specialist facilities and teaching at Brimble Hill Special School.  This provision opened in January 2008 and is currently funded for six places.  As of September 2008, the provision will be full.  Please note that this SRP is not a Unit, but a fully inclusive provision.

Red Oaks aims to provide these children with access to a fully inclusive curriculum, which is highly individualised to each pupil’s diverse learning needs.  Each child has their own dedicated Teaching Assistant, whose role it is to facilitate access to the curriculum, under the direction and support of the LDD Inclusion Manager, Claire Owens, and class teachers at both Red Oaks and Brimble Hill Schools.
