Goldilocks and the 3 Bears
Check out this video of quality speaking and listening work on the story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears...

We've been practising freeze frames of the story... we're still working on our angry expressions... we just can't stop smiling!

The children in Miss Owens' class and Years 5/6 have been having great fun doing work on Goldilocks and the 3 Bears together - lots of super collaboration, listening and learning from everyone - well done! They've learnt that there's lots to think about when you're a TA - it's not an easy job...but lots of fun! Due to the high standard of applications received, Miss Owens will be inviting all children who applied to help out in her class during the Summer Term, so if you don't have a date yet, don't worry, it will be coming up!

Thank you to all the children who have applied for the Voluntary Teaching Assistant roles - (see below) we received 15 applications in total. Miss Owens will be contacting all applicants at the start of term with details of Volunteering opportunities. Some fabulous applications - well done! :-)

11_march10.jpgEver fancied being a Teaching Assistant?! Well now's your chance!
Miss Owens is recruiting for Voluntary Teaching Assistants from Key Stages 1 and 2 to support her working with and teaching children in her class. You need to have good collaboration and communication skills and enjoy having fun with other children! Miss Owens will provide you with the teaching plans to follow.

Successful children will have the opportunity to volunteer in a one off lesson which may lead to future opportunities working at Brimble Hill and/or in Miss Owens' class.

If you are interested, please complete
this application form and return to Miss Owens in person or
this application form and return via e-mail
Closing date for applications: Friday 26th March 2010.

This is a taster session and there will be no interviews at this stage; Miss Owens will contact you to let you know whether you have been successful and your date for volunteering, once she has cleared this with your class teacher. Please note that at present this is a voluntary position which may lead to a position on the points scale at a later date following successful performance and an interview. Good luck! :-)

We were very lucky to have a visitor for the afternoon who used to go to Brimble Hill School.

We were very lucky to have a visitor for the afternoon who used to go to Brimble Hill School.

We enjoyed taking him on a tour of the new Brimble Hill School which looks very different now as it's in a new building and some of the staff still remembered him!

He joined us at playtime and then took us to the shops and taught us how to make sandwiches - we all had great fun!

A huge thank you to Brimble Hill for inviting us to their Christmas performance of 'The Snowman'.

We really enjoyed seeing all of our friends doing some fantastic singing, dancing, acting and signing! Well done - you were fabulous!

Here we are waiting excitedly for the performance to start...

Thank you to the adults who have made our exciting trips this term possible!

We were lucky enough to go to the panto of Jack and the Beanstalk! "He's behind you!"

We loved seeing the cow and the tall scary giant. It was great to see all the things first hand that we've been learning about and counting the last few weeks!

A big well done to MH who has been working with the children and adults in the LDD provision to complete two badges at Brownies.
She has been working towards her 'Disability Awareness' and 'Communicator' badges. This has involved her working with the children in our provision, learning about their needs and starting to learn BSL! I think we've got a teacher in the making - an absolute natural! Thank you for your help MH and good luck with completing your badges.
