Science Lesson
Year 3 recently began their new Science topic on forces and magnets, and they’ve already thrown themselves into some hands‑on investigation. The children took part in a fun ‘magnetic fishing’ experiment, using different‑sized magnets to discover which would be most effective at catching the greatest number of fish.
Before testing their ideas, pupils made predictions about what they thought would happen, helping them to think like real scientists. They then carried out the experiment carefully and finished by writing up their results. It was a brilliant introduction to the topic and a great way to build curiosity about how magnets work.
