Neolithic Huts
Year 3 produced some wonderful Neolithic-style huts as part of their DT learning, closely linked to our Stone Age history unit. They explored the full design process: researching how early humans built shelters, planning their own structures, creating them with care, and finally evaluating what worked well and what they might improve next time. Using natural materials such as leaves and branches gave the project an authentic feel and helped the children understand how people in the Stone Age relied on the surrounding resources.
