Safeguarding: The Local Governing Committee is fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of Safeguarding. Members have read and signed the Keeping Children Safe in Education Policy and the signed documentation is with the Clerk to the committee.

LGC members play a vital role in promoting high standards of educational achievement. They share a common belief that children should receive the best possible standard of education in all areas of their development. This is in the interests of current and future pupils.

LGC members are committed to serving the best interests of the school. As unpaid voluntary public servants, they help to sustain their school’s identity and provide a link with the local community. An effective committee is a source of enormous strength to the school.

Red Oaks Primary School and the Park Academies Trust welcomes enquires and applications for Local Governing Committee members (LGC) at Red Oaks and across our family of schools.

Local Governing Committees support the Trustees by focusing on strategic monitoring to achieve continual improvement within children’s education at each individual school.

Becoming a LGC member you will find the interaction between the committee and school is extremely rewarding. If you could commit four hours per month and attend a termly meeting on a Tuesday evening (six times per academic year) and you’re interested in supporting your local school either at Red Oaks or within TPAT schools in North or West Swindon, please contact Helen Bissex, governance professional supporting the LGC at Red Oaks, BissexH@theparkacademiestrust.com .  Helen will be happy to answer any of your questions and happy to discuss any general enquiries on an informal basis.
